Design and Analysis of a Nanosecond Burst-Mode CDR Using MATLAB/Simulink and Opti-System Co-simulation

Optical packet switching (OPS) networks are promising to accommodate the growing traffic and reduce power consumption in data center communications. OPS with nanosecond time require clock recovery (CDR) circuits. The CDR can be achieved by utilizing a global frequency-synchronized reference for both transmitters (TX) receivers (RX) adopting phase compensation scheme, which leads predictably managed frequency phase. However, still needs comprehensively evaluated considering various interferes. We add more analysis developing novel optoelectronic co-simulation system that combines software Opti-system MATLAB/Simulink. set up simple network equipped architecture using simulation system. feasibility of mechanism is validated, then interferes characterized evaluate CDR's stability, including location variation source, channel jitters, carrier variations.
